UFMDC selects "Member
of the Year"!
This year we are splitting the
award between two distinguished faculty members who have
done so much for the professors of the College.
Prof. Dave Johnson (Kendall) has worked
tirelessly and done a stellar job with regard to our
Academic Commission. The professors are the guardians of
academics at the College. UFMDCC has become a leader in
dealing with governance and academic issues with Academic
Council reports on the Four-Year Degree, Hiring New Faculty,
the Honors College and Alternative Academic Programs. Dave
has coordinated the efforts of close to one hundred
professors in these Councils.
Prof. Joe McNair (North) has done many, many
things for our professors and our union, including helping
lead the way in discussions and dialogue over the
soon-to-be-unfolded four-year degree. He also helps train
and educate all of our new hired faculty, is involved in our
recruitment drive, and is even spearheading an employee
assistance program called the Membership Assistance Program,
conducted through the AFL-CIO and United Way.
Please join us in congratulating Dave and
Joe.
